I love to sample different beer. My favorite local establishment offers samples that are almost too small, but still gives me the opportunity to try a bunch in one visit. Some places do these little shot glasses, some offer 4 or 5oz pours. That seems a little more reasonable to me. If samples are not offered, sometimes smaller pours like a 7 or 8oz tulip will do the trick. If a bar has 20 or more taps, it is usually hard to pick just one or two, so I really appreciate the opportunity to try samples. Every once in a while I will pick something that really isn’t what I expected and not something I am in the mood for, so not wasting 12 or 16 oz is helpful. Ah – so many beers – so little time.
